I am a recent graduate who majored in Psychology at UC Davis. I am interested in developmental and emotion psychology; specifically, how physiology interacts with the mind and environment. Currently, I am working on a project that links childrens' cortisol levels, temperament, and supportive parenting to novel, social situations. In my spare time I enjoy playing basketball and video games.

Since being at the lab, I've become increasingly interested in the development of children's social and emotional personality, specifically how empathetic children can be, how they acquire empathy, and how that changes over time. I am interested in definitions held by different cultures in regards to multiple aspects of life (I.E. what is defined as a healthy family in North America versus what constitutes a healthy family in West Africa), and how that can affect the assimilation/acculturation process during migration. I am a psychology student at UC Davis with a great interest in social and abnormal psychology. I'm very interested in how social factors and perceptions of situations influence peoples' behaviors. I also have a great interest in understanding how mental disorders can affect a person and what steps can be taken in order to recover from those disorders. I am currently applying to graduate schools in clinical psychology/ mental health. I hope to someday have my own practice where I can help and treat people with mental disorders.
