Masters Student My research interests center on the nature of caregiver-child relationships and how these relationships foster social and emotional competence in preschool age children. I am currently working on a project examining nonverbal components of mother-child conversations about emotions. It is my hope to explore how various parental social and emotional risk factors influence nonverbal behavior, and to see if this behavior may impact their child's emotion understanding. Upon completion of my master's degree, I would like to apply the knowledge gained in my research and graduate study to family outreach and intervention services in at-risk populations. |
