| Abstract: | Discusses alternative conceptions of the nature of feelings (e.g., W. James, 1890; E. Husserl, 1970) with the pluralistic approach. Psychologists who practice the pluralistic approach to the nature of feelings must develop a plural conception including more than a single account of the relevant phenomena. The pluralistic approach encourages the formulation of alternative accounts of the phenomena of concern especially when alternative accounts are mutually contradictory.
