Employing a "how to" approach, this video provides explicit instruction in safer sex while also exploring issues common to gay male sexual relationships. The highly detailed presentation guides the viewer on a range of topics from being successful in one night flings to maintaining a long-term relationship. The topics covered include: preferred positions for orgasm; how to perform oral and anal sex; masturbation; rimming safely; maximizing pleasure; and the benefits of developing intimacy, being playful, romantic and creative. In summary, this production covers both the psychological and physiological aspects of sexual acts to increase men's eroticism and sensuality during sex with other men.
Although the video's primary focus is improving gay sex, a safer sex message is integrated throughout it, with condom use continually normalized and eroticized. The technical production quality is excellent. The videomakers effectively use poetry, intimate lighting, interesting sets, a smooth-voiced male host and music to engage the viewer throughout this 52-minute production. Though very informative and precise in its presentations and discussions, a possibly objectionable feature might be that it only shows perfectly sculpted White men, and therefore, it may be offensive to members of other ethnic groups or to men who cannot be as physically fit as those models. Moreover, some of the messages discussed near the end of the video regard appearance for "better sex," such as "remember to dress nicely" or "go to a gym," and could be unrealistic or unattainable for some viewers who might then be unable to relate to other points in the video. |
