This brief presentation uses a humorous dramatization to provide basic guidelines for using condoms and practicing safer sex. Mark is bringing home Cary, a young man whom he has just met, to have sex. As they enter the house, they are confronted by Mark’s mother, Mavis Davis (played by the same actor who plays Mark). Cary is startled by her abrupt appearance and her questioning about whether he knows about safer sex. Deciding that the boys need a lesson in safer sex, Mavis takes control. Using a large cucumber, she gives them a demonstration of condom usage, including instruction on proper lubricants, condom removal after sex, and proper disposal.

The production quality of this video is excellent. Mark Davis plays both himself and Mavis Davis, providing a humorous and somewhat campy context for information about condom use. The video won an award in the “Homo Home Video Contest” sponsored by the San Francisco AIDS Foundation.
