This video documents a condom skills party attended by middle-aged White gay and bisexual men. At the beginning of the video the men discuss their experiences with condoms, sharing their initial exposure to condoms, condom use techniques, and feelings about condom use. The host uses a model of a penis to demonstrate condom and lubricant application.

After the group establishes a sufficient comfort level, the men practice using condoms and other latex barriers in low risk sexual activities. The group sex environment is warm and playful. In a sexually explicit segment, the men experiment with safer sex practices that do not involve anal penetration or exchange of semen. These include massage, kissing, licking, fingering with latex gloves, masturbation, and oral sex with condoms. The encounter takes place on the floor of a large comfortable living room. Afterwards, the men sit outdoors in a circle and describe their experience as a very positive one.

The technical quality of the video is fair, primarily because of long camera shots and a “pass-the-microphone” style. The host’s three-piece business suit seems out of place, given the video’s otherwise casual style. Much of the instructional content is presented by example; safer sex behavior is modeled rather than described. The creative uses of condoms and latex barriers demonstrated during the group sex encounter make the video useful for gay and bisexual men interested in safer group sex, and safer sex in general.
