This video consists of six sexually explicit short-length segments that offer safer sex technique instruction. The first segment, “Something Fierce,” uses a dance-style video format to describe condom usage; the video explicitly demonstrates how to put a condom on a penis. “Midnight Snack” demonstrates oral safer sex technique with condoms (mouth/penis contact), and latex dental dams for rimming (oral/anal contact). The interracial gay couple uses whipped cream and honey to eroticize their sexual experience. “Car Service” models safer sex behavior in an anonymous—or pickup—sexual encounter in a taxi. “Current Flow” exemplifies sex techniques for lesbians by demonstrating safer sex with sex toys, and the use of plastic wrap for cunnilingus. “Law and Order” demonstrates safer sex in an S/M (sadomasochism) environment, including use of condoms for anal sex, and latex gloves for fisting (insertion of hand in rectum). An untitled segment features a Black drag queen who imparts basic safer sex guidelines; two Black men join in a “voguing” sequence. The final short, “Steam Clean,” models anonymous safer sex in a bath house environment. Two men have anal sex using a condom. The concluding graphic, “Fuck Safely—Use A Condom,” is displayed in English and several Asian languages.
The “something for everybody” approach of this video collection offers a package that will appeal to many interests. A wide range of performers and sexual scenarios helps to personalize the video. The video uses captions, lyrical music, and modeling to impart most of the instructional content; use of dialog and narration is minimal. The technical quality of the video is fair. Some segments have a home movie look. But driving music and engaging visual imagery should keep the interest of most viewers. |
