This two-part video contains information for health care professionals who will be documenting patients' sexual histories. The first part consists of two dramatizations in which a female doctor interviews a Latina woman and a Latino man. The woman patient is shy and uncomfortable, and says that she has no problems. The male patient is slightly uncomfortable but more candid in his responses. He admits that he has engaged in sexual behaviors that may have put him at risk for AIDS (e.g., more than one sexual partner, a sexual relation with a prostitute, and not always using a condom). The doctor speaks unnaturally fast and does not seem to create a comfortable atmosphere.

The second part provides specific guidelines and suggestions for health care professionals to help them to approach AIDS-related issues in more effective and sensitive ways. This section gives specific guidelines for taking a patient's sexual history and asking questions about high risk behaviors, male-to-male sexual relations, and sexual problems specific to men and to women. The overall technical quality of the production is good.
