This video portrays the emotional and psychological impact of an AIDS diagnosis and the consequences of lack of information. It stresses the importance of AIDS education for teenagers.

Ana is a high school student whose father, Ramon, is diagnosed with AIDS. Ramon became infected with the virus by sharing needles once or twice, three years ago. Many of Ana's friends and relatives are uninformed about the facts of AIDS and are fearful of becoming infected. Most of them, except Arturo, begin to alienate Ana and her father. Arturo has had personal experience in dealing with the fear of AIDS (he was raped by a group of men) and is now an AIDS counselor. He provides support and advice for Ana and her friends, as each of them realizes how their own behaviors have put them at risk for AIDS.

The video addresses the issues of living with AIDS; AIDS transmission routes (with emphasis on IV drug use and sharing of needles); condom use and sexual abstinence; and taking responsibility for one's actions. Needle cleaning is mentioned but not demonstrated. The overall technical quality of the video is good.
