PSYCHOLOGY 162 Section:
INTRODUCTION TO PERSONALITY PSYCHOLOGY
Winter Quarter 2008
| Units: | 4 |
| Prerequisites: | Psychology 1, Psychology 41. |
|
This course covers the major contemporary approaches to personality (psychodynamic, trait, biological, humanistic, cultural, and cognitive/learning). Because it satisfies a GE writing requirement, it includes several written exercises (e.g., dream reports, analyses of personality research results, ratings of animal/pet personality traits). There are three in-class examinations, each covering a third of the course, and an optional final exam. Most of the textbook is assigned, and the lectures clarify, reinforce, and supplement the reading assignments.
