INTRO TO CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

The purpose of this course is to give students an overview of the field (body of knowledge and profession) of clinical psychology. We'll briefly cover the historical background, the education and training of clinical psychologists, major theoretical influences on the field, and the major areas of practice for clinical psychologists. Keeping in mind the over-arching themes of ethics and diversity, students will learn about the interface between this and other areas of psychology, as well as how this field addresses larger questions.
