Description
Measurement of latent constructs is the cornerstone of psychometric work. Intensively gathered data, such as psychophysiological and measurements obtained numerous times via smartphones, present new opportunities for personalized measurement. With these new possibilities come novel issues. This talk discusses some of the progress and issues with modeling latent variables at the level of the individual using time series data. After a brief history of the problem and overview of methods used, I will discuss some emerging potential solutions.
