Professor Tamara Swaab Elected Fellow of APS

Professor Swaab selected as a Fellow of the Association for Psychological Science

Professor Tamara Swaab received the honor of being named a Fellow of APS (Association for Psychological Science). The honor is conferred to scientists "who have made sustained outstanding contributions to the science of psychology in the areas of research, teaching, service, and/or application." Dr. Swaab is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and a core faculty member in the UC Davis Center for Mind and Brain. She is also director of the Cognitive Neuroscience of Language Lab, which studies the cognitive and neural architectures of normal language comprehension. In this context, she has focused her research on a number of topics, including the processing of sentences and discourse, and the representation of words and their meaning. In order to investigate these topics she has made use of behavioral methods, Event-Related Potentials (ERPs), and functional neuroimaging (fMRI). Professor Swaab is the Editor-in-Chief for the journal Cognition, a high-profile international journal focused on cognitive science.
